Chocolate has always been one of Margot’s favourite treats! There was no turning back from these irresistible creamy and sweet morsels!
Back in 2011 Margot turned her passion into a business basing Margot’s Handcrafted Chocolates at their farm at Waikaremoana, 40 minutes from Wairoa in Northern Hawke’s Bay. Margot and her husband converted their shepherds’ quarters into a certified kitchen where you can find Margot working away in her ‘Chocolate House’.
Experimenting with different types of chocolate and flavours, Margot created a unique range of handcrafted chocolate truffles with chocolate sourced from Kaoka.
French based Kouka work and support organic, fair trade cocoa growers around the world. Kaoka currently partners with 3918 cocoa families globally and align with my desire to run an ethical, transparent and eco-friendly business. The cocoa pods are grown in the Dominican Republic then sent to France and manufactured into high quality couverture chocolate.
